Fort Barrancas Built by the British, named and fortified by the Spanish and reconstructed by the Americans, Fort Barrancas is open for viewing five to seven days per week, dependant on the season. Across the bay from the larger Fort Pickens, Fort Barrancas is a prime example of coastal fortifications of North America from the mid-1700s until the late 1900s.
